Government of India has announced that the 10 percent reservations for economically weaker sections (EWS) / Economically backward classes (EBC) will be implemented from 1st February 2019. All the admissions and job recruitment notifications to be issued from 1st February 2019 will have to implement these reservations.
Procedure to get EWS Certificate:
The EWS certificates for the eligible candidates will be issued by the officer in the cadre of not lesser than MRO / Tahasildar. The income limit to issue EBC / EWS certificates is fixed at Rs.8 lakhs per annum.
Format of EBC Certificate:
Government of India has not issued any format of certificate for EBC reservations. State governments have to issue GOs mentioning specific guidelines to issue these certificates through Mee Seva Centers.
State level guidelines:
The format of EBC certificates should be uniform across the country as the reservations are also implemented in central government institutions. The guidelines of Central Government are referring to the central institutions and jobs only. State Governments have to frame their own guidelines on 10 percent reservations.
