GATE 2018 Complete Details with Previous Papers, Cut Offs for IITs and NITs

GATE 2018 (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) has been announced by IIT Guwahati, the organising institute for the year 2018-19. The exam will be held on 3rd, 4th, 10th and 11th of February 2018.

IITs rotate the responsibility of conducting GATE exam. The next GATE will be held by IIT Guwahati.

Why GATE?

Admission to post graduate programmes (masters and doctoral) with MHRD and other Government scholarships / assistantships in Engineering / Technology / Architecture / Science are open to those who qualify in GATE.

Useful for PSU recruitments:

The GATE score is also used by several PSUs for their recruitment. GATE 2018 scores are valid for three years. Examination for all the papers will be in online mode only.

Application Fee:

For examination centers in India, the application fee is Rs. 750 for female candidates, Rs. 750 for SC/ ST / PwD candidates and Rs. 1500 for all other candidates.

Important Dates:

Online Applications: Start from 1st September 2017
Online applications closes: On 5th October 2017
Exam dates: 3rd, 4th, 10th, 11th February 2018

GATE Eligibility:

Bachelor’s degree holders in Engineering/Technology (4 years
after 10+2 or 3 years after B.Sc./Diploma in Engineering/
Technology) and those who are in the final year of such
programs.

OR

Bachelor’s degree holders in Architecture (Five years course) and those who are in the final year of such programs.

OR

Bachelor’s degree holders of Four-year program in Science (B.S.) and those who are in the final year of such programs.

OR

Master’s degree holders in any branch of Science/ Mathematics/
Statistics/Computer Applications or equivalent and those who
are in the final year of such programs.

OR

Holders of Four-year Integrated Master’s degree (Post B.Sc.) in
Engineering/Technology and those who are in the second or
higher year of such programs.

OR

Holders of Five-year Integrated Master’s degree or Dual Degree
in Engineering/Technology and those who are in the fourth or
higher year of such programs.

OR

Holders of Five-year integrated M.Sc. or Five-year integrated
B.Sc./M.Sc. degree and those who are in the final year of such
programs.

OR

Candidates with qualifications obtained through examinations
conducted by professional societies recognized by UPSC/ AICTE/ MHRD as equivalent to B.E./B.Tech. Those who have completed Section A of AMIE or equivalent of such professional courses are also eligible.
