University of Calicut, Kerala has announced admission notification 2011 for M.Phil Courses in various departments of the university. The M.Phil Degree programmes in available in the departments / disciplines of Bio-technology, Botany, Chemistry, Commerce, Arabic, English, Education, Folklore Studies, Hindi, Physics, Political Science, Life Science, History, Economics, Library and Information Science, Malayalam and Kerala Studies, Mathematics, Philosophy, Psychology, Sanskrit, Statistics, Russian and Comparative Literature, School of Drama and Fine Arts, Zoology etc. Selection will be based on the performance in Entrance Examination. Following are details of eligibility, entrance exam and application procedure:
Eligibility and Qualifications: Applicants should have Master’s Degree in the concerned or relevant subject with at least 55 percent marks. The University shall conduct an Entrance Examination which will consist of objective and descriptive type questions of 50 marks each. The duration of the entrance examination shall be two hours. Candidate who secures minimum 50 percent marks and above in the entrance examination are eligible for admission to M.Phil course. SC/ST category candidates need only 35 percent marks to qualify in the entrance examination. Teachers those working in affiliated colleges under FIP Scheme will be exempted from the entrance examination.
Total available seats will be distributed equally among students and teachers under FIP Scheme. Filled in application forms should be sent to the concerned Head of the Department along with fee challan receipts and other copies of certificates.
