UGC has announced several changes in the NET examination commencing from June 2012. The UGC NET June 2012 notification has been announced for the award of Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) and Lectureship. The UGC has introduced complete objective type examination in all three papers from June 2012. The latest UGC NET June 2012 notification issued by UGC has notified these changes. There will be three papers. All the question papers will be in objective type. According to these changes, following is the new examination structure:
1) Paper 1: There will be 60 questions and candidates have to attempt 50 questions. Each question carry 2 marks thus making it a total of 100 marks. Duration is 90 minutes.
2) Paper 2: There will be 50 questions in this paper. All questions are compulsory. The paper will be for 100 marks and duration is 90 minutes.
3) Paper 3: There will be 75 questions in this paper and each question carry 2 marks. Total marks for this paper is 150 and duration is 150 minutes.
The UGC has announced that the syllabus of Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III will remain the same as mentioned earlier. Candidates will be allowed to take out a printout of OMR Response Sheets with them after the completion of the examination. There will be no negative marking. Interested candidates can apply online only through www.ugcnetonline.in OR www.ugc.ac.in .

I am an MBA in General Management. I have taken all the HR papers in my PG. However our college offers just MBA and doesnt indicate the specialisation. Am I eligible to write Code 55 ? Could you also please suggest reference books for UGC CODE 55 – Labour welfare and HRM ? Thanks.
Is the elective system still applicable or we have to read all subjects ? In paper 3 will we have electives and each elective will have 75 questions or do we have to read all electives ? Thanks
Only the nature of question paper has been changed. You have to appear in your subject only.
as per old pattern we have to taken 50 percent jointly for paper -I and papper -II… Is this rule is applied or not ??? Plz let me know the exact form as em rly vry confused???

You have to choose the subject studied in PG Course. If that paper is not offered in PG, relevant subjects will be allowed. 75 questions will be given from the chosen subject only.
Is it true that there will no negative marking in net life science june 2012 exam and whether this scheme of exam is applicable for the same
CSIR – UGC exam is different from UGC – NET. You need to appear for CSIR – UGC NET for Life Sciences.

No. These are for UGC – NET. Life Sciences candidates have to appear for CSIR – UGC NET. This exam also has been changed to objective type recently. Last dates to apply for the June 2012 exam is over. Try to apply for December 2012 Exam if you are from Life Sciences.
