TSPSC General Studies – Telangana Govt Welfare Schemes and Policies

Following are the important schemes of Telangana State Government. The questions on these schemes are asked in all competitive exams in Telangana. TSPSC has included – Welfare Scheme and Policies of Telangana State – in the syllabus for Groups, Panchayat Secretaries, VRO, VRA, Constables, SI exams etc. All the exams which have General Studies paper / section will have some questions on these schemes. So candidates should have basic understanding of these schemes, like aim of the scheme, launch time and guidelines etc. See the details below:

Mission Kakatiya

– To construct 46000 tanks in five years
– To provide irrigation to 25 lakhs acres
– To spend Rs. 22,000 crore
– Activities of the scheme include desiltation, repairing damaged sluices and weirs, restoring dilapidated tank bunds, stone revetments and plugging seepages are carried out.
– To improve ground water table in the long run

Mission Bhagiratha

– Also known as Telangana Drinking Water Supply Project
– 1.30 lakh km stretch of pipelines would be laid.
– Estimated cost is Rs 35,000 crore
– To provide 100 litres per capita per day (LPCD) treated and piped water to every household in rural areas, 135 LPCD in municipalities and 150 LPCD in municipal corporations.

Haritha Haram

– Slogan is Telanganaku Haritha Haram
– To increase green cover from 25.16 to 33 percent of the total geographical area of Telangana.
– 230 crore seedlings would be raised in three years.
– First week of July is ‘Green Week’.

Kalyana Lakshmi / Shaadi Mubarak

– One-time financial assistance of Rs. 51,000 at the time of marriage for brides.
– Both the schemes are introduced from 2 October 2014.
– Kalyana Lakshmi for SC / STs and Shadi Mubarak for Minorities.
– Parental income does not exceed Rs. 2 lakh per annum.

Arogya Lakshmi

– To provide one nutritious meal every day to pregnant and lactating women and also to children below the age of six.
– The scheme is implemented through Anganwadi centres.
– Launched officially on January 1, 2015
– 200 ml of milk for 25 days a month and one egg each day will be given with meal to Women.
– Children, aged between seven months and three years are provided with 16 eggs a month in addition to a 2.5 kg food packet.
– For children aged between 3 and six years, one egg a day in addition to rice, dal, vegetables and snacks is supplied.

Aasara pensions

– The scheme is to provide social safety net and to protect the most vulnerable sections of society, old and infirm, people with HIV-AIDS, widows, incapacitated weavers and toddy tappers.
– Pension scheme enhanced with monthly pension from Rs. 200 to Rs. 1000 for the old aged, widows, weavers, toddy tappers and AIDS patients.
– Rs. 1500 for disabled persons.

Housing for the poor

– To provide quality and respectable housing to the poor.
– Three storied buildings with the 2 BHK flats in Hyderabad and other urban areas
– Independent houses in rural areas.
– A pilot project in IDH Colony in Bhoidguda, Secunderabad.

SHE Teams

– Committee headed by IAS officer Poonam Malakondaiah recommended SHE teams for the safety and security of women and girls.
– Set up in Hyderabad and Cyberabad police Commissionerates.

Rythu Bandhu – Input Subsidy Scheme

– Rs 4,000 per acre to each farmer as input subsidy.
– Two times in a crop year (for Rabi and Kharif seasons)
– Rs 6 lakh ex-gratia to the farmers who have committed suicides.

Maternity Leave

– 90-day special leave besides the 3 months maternity leave for Government women employees.
– For deliveries in government hospitals, an amount of Rs 12,000 is given.
– If the woman is blessed with a girl child, an additional Rs 1000 is given to the mother.

KCR Kit:

– 16 essential items required for a newborn worth about Rs 2,000 is given to the mother and child.
– Through “Amma Vodi” scheme, pregnant women living in the remote agencies are brought to the hospitals and free transport is provided for her after the delivery.

Rs 10 Lakh per family for martyrs

– For 470 martyrs were identified – who laid down their lives for the cause of separate Telangana State.
– Rs 10 Lakh per family besides one job to the eligible person in the family
– One acre of land for those living on agriculture.
