According to the Telangana Police Recruitment Board, 12,91,006 applications were received from 7,33,559 candidates across the state for 17,516 posts in the police, SPF, fire department, jails department, transport and excise departments. It was revealed that 21 per cent (2,76,311) of the total applications came from women candidates. Meanwhile, 1.4 lakh candidates have been offered job opportunities with a two-year age limit other than the three years given by the government at the time of notification. Similarly, 67 per cent students opted for Telugu medium, 32.8 per cent for English and 0.2 per cent for Urdu medium for the preliminary written test.
Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Nallagonda, Khammam and Suryapeta topped the list with the highest number of applications. 33 per cent applications were received from these districts. Mulugu, Asifabad, Bhupalpally, Narayanpet, Janagam and Rajanna Sirisilla received the lowest 7 per cent applications.
