The PGIMER Director has informed that the MD / MS Entrance Examination has been cancelled after the unearth of cheating racket. The CBI is investigating the case. The PGIMER (Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research) has held the MD / MS entrance examination last week.

The PGIMER will announce the new examination schedule very soon. The entrance is aimed at conducting admission for MD (Doctor of Medicine) and MS (Master of Surgery) courses.

The decision to cancel the entrance exam will affect 7300 candidates, who appeared for the test. About 78 post graduation seats in various departments of PGIMER will be filled through this exam.

The new PGIMER entrance exam for MD / MS courses is likely to be held in December this year. Earlier to this, the institute had withheld the result of the exam and decided to cancel the exam in the interest of large number of the candidates.

Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) Chandigarh has announced admission notification 2012-13 for various pare medical courses. The academic session will commence from 1st September 2012. PGIMER is one of the leading medical training institutes in the country. Here are details of courses, seats and application procedure:

1. B.Sc Med Tech. Laboratory: 23 seats
2. B.Sc. Med Tech Radio diagnosis and Imaging – with / without stipend: 15 seats
3. B.Sc. Med Tech Radiotherapy: 8 seats
4. B.Sc. Med Tech Operation Theatre: 4 seats
5. B.Sc. Med Tech Perfusionist without stipend: 2 seats
6. Bachelor of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology (BASLP): 9 seats
7. Bachelor of Physical Therapies: 15 seats

Age should be between 17 – 25 years as on 31st August 2012. Interested candidates can download application forms from pgimer.nic.in . Filled in applications along with relevant enclosures should be sent to Registrar, PGIMER, Chandigarh. Last date is 27th June 2012.
