National Institute of Technology Rourkela (NITR) is inviting online applications for admission into Ph.D. and M.Tech. Programmes for the year 2012 – 13. The selection will be based on merit in previous exams, NET / GATE score and personnel interview. The application fee is Rs. 500 and should be paid through online payment.
1. Ph.D programmes : Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Mining Engineering, Chemistry, Mathematics, Humanities and Social Sciences, School of Management, Life Science, Physics, Biotechnology and Medical Engineering, Ceramic Engineering, Civil Engineering and Chemical Engineering.
Eligibility : M.E. / M.Tech. / B.E. / B.Tech. / MCA / M.Sc. / M.B.B.S. / M.A. / MBA / M.Com / M. Sc. / M.Pharmacy / B.Pharmacy with NET / GATE score. Duration of programme : 4 years for M.Tech / M.Pharm candidates and 5 years for others.
2. M.Tech (Research) : Ceramic Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering and Mining Engineering.
Eligibility : B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Pharm / MCA / M.Sc. / M.B.B.S. / M.A. / MBA / M.Com. / M. Sc. NET / GATE qualification. Duration of the programme : 2 years.

Applicants are required to submit their completed application form along with all the original and photocopies of certificates at the time of interview. Closing date for the submission of online application is 30th November,2012. Interview will be held on 19th December, 2012 .
