IIFM Bhopal M.Phil Natural Resource Management Admissions

The Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM) has announced admission notification 2012 for M.Phil (Natural Resource Management) programme. IIFM is a leading sectoral management institute in India. This is a one year M.Phil in Natural Resource Management course with focus on conceptual and analytical abilities in relation to the field realities of natural resources management. The programme is affiliated to Saurashtra University, Rajkot, Gujarat. The degree shall be awarded by the Faculty of Science, Saurashtra University, Rajkot. The programme will be conducted by IIFM at it’s campus in Bhopal. Here are details of eligibility, selection and application procedure:

Eligibility Requirements: Applicants should have Post Graduate degree or diploma with at least 55 percent aggregate marks. SC, ST and PD candidates need minimum 50 percent marks as per the UGC guidelines. Post Graduate degree can be from the disciplines of Science / Engineering/ Management and related Social sciences. Number of seats are 20. Out of these, 10 seats will be filled by in-service Officers from Indian Forest Service, State Forest Services, Group ‘A’ Officers or equivalent cadre.

Admission Procedure: In-service candidates have to apply by the way of nomination through proper channel. Other candidates can download application forms and information bulletin from website www.iifm.ac.in . Selection of the candidates will be based on written test and an interview. The written test will consist of questions from English ability, Analytical ability and Natural resource management aptitude. The Institute shall set a cutoff marks for the written exam. Those qualified in written test will be called for interview. Candidates qualified in UGC / CSIR / ICAR- NET will be exempted from written test and will be invited directly for interview.

The total fee for the programme is Rs. 1,50,000. This will include tuition fee, examination fee, library fee, Computer fee, Hostel rent, charges for electricity, water etc. Completed application forms along with DD for Rs. 500 drawn in favour of Director, IIFM, and payable at Bhopal should reach Chairperson, M.Phil (NRM) Admission, Indian Institute of Forest Management, Nahru Nagar, Bhopal – 462003, Madhya Pradesh. Last date for the receipt of completed applications is 2nd April 2012.

University of Calicut M.Phil Admissions 2011-12

University of Calicut, Kerala has announced admission notification 2011 for M.Phil Courses in various departments of the university. The M.Phil Degree programmes in available in the departments / disciplines of Bio-technology, Botany, Chemistry, Commerce, Arabic, English, Education, Folklore Studies, Hindi, Physics, Political Science, Life Science, History, Economics, Library and Information Science, Malayalam and Kerala Studies, Mathematics, Philosophy, Psychology, Sanskrit, Statistics, Russian and Comparative Literature, School of Drama and Fine Arts, Zoology etc. Selection will be based on the performance in Entrance Examination. Following are details of eligibility, entrance exam and application procedure:

Eligibility and Qualifications: Applicants should have Master’s Degree in the concerned or relevant subject with at least 55 percent marks. The University shall conduct an Entrance Examination which will consist of objective and descriptive type questions of 50 marks each. The duration of the entrance examination shall be two hours. Candidate who secures minimum 50 percent marks and above in the entrance examination are eligible for admission to M.Phil course. SC/ST category candidates need only 35 percent marks to qualify in the entrance examination. Teachers those working in affiliated colleges under FIP Scheme will be exempted from the entrance examination.

Total available seats will be distributed equally among students and teachers under FIP Scheme.
