KBITS Karnataka Biotechnology Aptitude Test – KBAT 2011-12 for BTFS Admissions

Karnataka Biotechnology and Information Technology Services (KBITS), Department of Information Technology, Biotechnology and Science and Technology, Bangalore (Govt. of Karnataka) is inviting applications from enthusiastic candidates to appear for Karnataka Biotechnology Aptitude Test (KBAT) 2011-2012 for admission into Biotechnology Finishing Schools (BTFS) offering Post Graduate Diploma in specialised Biotechnology related job oriented courses. BTFS is a unique initiative of the Govt. of Karnataka to provide placement opportunities in the Biotech Sector. Following are details of the courses offered, eligibility and application procedure:

Courses offered through BTFS (Biotechnology Finishing Schools):

1. Bioinformatics and Rational Drug Design
2. Nutraceuticals and Food Processing
3. Pre-clinical, Clinical Research, Bio-statistics and Data Management
4. Fermentation and Bio-processing
5. Biosensors and Medical Devices
6. Plant Genetic Transformation, Genome, Seed and Marker Analysis
7. Cellular and Molecular Diagnostics
8. Protein Expression and Scale up
9. Plant tissue culture and Micro Propagation

Selected candidates will get admission in the above specialisations in 12 well known institutions across the state of Karnataka. Selection will be based on the Online Entrance Test called KBAT (Karnataka Biotechnology Aptitude Test 2011-12) followed by an interview at Bangalore. KSLU 5 Year BA LLB, BBA LLB Admissions 2011-12

Karnataka State Law University (KSLU), Dharwad has announced notification for admission into five year integrated programs in Law conducted by the colleges its purview in the state of Karnataka. The programs offered are BA LLB and BBA LLB (Hons.) for the academic year 2011-2012. Applications can be downloaded from the KSLU website http://www.kslu.ac.in/Circulars/circular_14.pdf . There are hybrid courses made for those interested in legal education and the candidates will get their professional degree along with Bachelors qualification.

Candidates who completed BBA LLB will have double advantage as they will get two professional degrees in a one go. They will get BBA and LLB making their employment chances more brighter. Following are details of the courses, eligibility, selection and application procedure:

1. Integrated BA LLB : Duration is 5 years
2. Integrated BBA LLB: Duration is 5 years.

Eligibility: Candidates should have successfully completed their Intermediate / Senior Secondary Certificate / 10+2 with minimum 45 percent marks. Applicants who have obtained +2 Certificate or First Degree Certificate in distance or correspondence method will also be considered for admission. But candidates who obtained 10+2 qualification through open Universities system directly without having any basic qualification are not eligible for these courses.

Selection Procedure: Selection of candidates to the first year of the 5 year B.A., LL.B. integrated course in all colleges under the jurisdiction of Karnataka State Law University (KSLU), will be based on merit and marks in the qualifying examination.
