Class II – PUC Biology Paper Leak in Karnataka – No Re-exam

Bangalore, March 2013: The Government of Karnataka has clarified that the state government has no plans to conduct re-exams for Class – II (PUC) biology subject. The Primary and Secondary Education minister Visvesvara Hegde Kageri informed that the Government has no proposal to conduct re-examination.

He also said that the investigation is under progress on the Tumkur issue (rumours of paper leak) and the police have already arrested as part of the investigation.

The State Government of Karnataka has also issued a circular to Block Education Officers (BEOs) to set up two flying squads in their respective taluks to supervise the examinations. The squads will consists of officials from education and police department. A videographer also follow them to keep vigil on the nearby xerox centers, cyber cafes and tuition centers.

The state government is also contemplating to enforce Goonda Act against those involved in paper leaks. The Government has also set up a helpline to receive suggestions from the students and parents.

NITK Surathkal MBA Admission Notification 2013

National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal is inviting applications from eligible candidates for admission into MBA programme in various specializations for the year 2013 – 15. There are 64 seats in total. Candidates will be short-listed for group discussion and interview based on merit in CAT / MAT / C-MAT score.

MBA programme is offered in the specialization of Human Resource Management, Marketing, Operation and Analytical Management and Finance.

Qualification : Graduation in any discipline with minimum first class marks in aggregate. Must have a valid CAT / MAT / CMAT score.
Application fee : Rs. 600 in the form of DD payable at SBI, Surathkal / Canara Bank, NITK Campus (DP Code – 8517) drawn in favour of the Director, National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal, Srinivasnagar which should be enclosed along with application form.

Application procedure : Eligible candidates should apply in the prescribed format along with all relevant enclosures and fee DD to the Dy. Registrar (Academic), NIT Karnataka, Surathkal,
Srnivasnagar, Mangalore, Karnataka – 575 025. Application forms can be downloaded from website : http://www.nitk.ac.in. Last date for the receipt of filled in application form is 22nd March, 2013.
