NHFDC 1000 Scholarships for Students with Disabilities

National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation (NHFDC), a Trust Fund is inviting applications on behalf of Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India for the award of Scholarship under the Scholarship Scheme (Trust Fund) for Students with Disabilities 2012. Under this scholarship scheme, 1000 Scholarships will be awarded to eligible physically handicapped (PH) students. The scholarships will be awarded for degree and post graduate level professional and technical courses from any recognized institutions in India. Here are other details such as eligibility, selection procedure and application process:

Interested candidates can apply any time in academic year for scholarships under this scheme. There is no last date for the receipt of completed applications. Scholarships will be awarded to eligible candidates on quarterly basis. The applications received in the preceding quarter will be considered for that quarter. Candidates can also submit an advance copy of application online through www.nhfdc.nic.in or www.socialjustice.nic.in .

Under this scheme, Rs. 2500/ per month will be awarded for Professional Graduate Courses and Rs.3000/- per month for Professional Post- Graduate Courses in a academic year. Books and Stationery allowance will be paid to the selected students pursuing Professional Graduate Courses at Rs.6,000 per annum and Rs.10,000 per annum for Professional Post-Graduate Courses.

Parental income of the applicants should not be more than Rs.25,000 (Rs. 3.00 Lakh p.a.) from all sources. Family income also includes income of parent or guardian. Ministry of Culture Senior and Junior Fellowships for Artistes 2012

Ministry of Culture, Government of India has announced Senior and Junior Fellowships for outstanding persons in the field of culture. These fellowships will be awarded for undertaking research oriented projects in the discipline of culture. The applicant should provide evidence of his or her capabilities in undertaking the project. The Fellowships will not be granted for training and conducting workshops, seminars or documenting memoirs or for writing autobiographies, fiction, etc. Here are other details.

1) Senior / Junior Fellowships in the Field of Performing, Literary and Plastic Arts: These include Music, Dance, Theatre, Folk Traditional and Indigenous Arts including Puppetry, Travelogue, History and Theory of Literature, Graphics, Sculpture, Painting including Folk Paintings and Research Work on Traditional Paintings and Creative Photography.

2) Senior / Junior Fellowships in the New Areas related to Culture: In the fields of Indology, Sociology of Culture, Cultural Economics, Epigraphy, Structural and Engineering Aspects of Monuments, Scientific and Technical aspects of Conservation, Numismatics, Management aspects of Art and Heritage, Studies relating to application of Science and technology in areas related to culture and creativity.

The number of fellowships are up to 400 each year. The number of senior fellowships will be 200. Value of each fellowship is Rs.20,000 per month. These are for the artistes in the age group of above 40 years. The Number of junior fellowships are also around 200 and value of each fellowship is Rs.10,000. Age should be between 25-40 years as on 1st April of the year. Selection will be based on the interviews for short listed candidates.
