KVPY Fellowships 2012 – 2013 for Basic Sciences

The much awaited KVPY Fellowship notification has been announced. The Aptitude Test for KVPY Fellowships 2012 will be conducted on 4th November 2012. You can apply online through www.kvpy.org.in . The Convener of KVPY (Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana), Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore has issued indicative notification for the award of KVPY Fellowship 2012 effective from 1st April 2013 and 1st August 2013. Selected candidates will get Rs. 4000 – 7000 per month and 4 months fellowship as contingency grant per annum.

The KVPY fellowships will be awarded for Basic Sciences in various streams as described below. Candidates studying +1, +2 and B.Sc / B.S / Integrated M.Sc are eligible under various streams.

1. Stream SA: Students those enrolled in XI standard (Science Subjects) during the academic year 2012-13.

2. Stream SX: Students should enroll in +2 or XII standard during the academic year 2012-13 and aspiring to join an Under Graduate program in basic sciences (B.Sc / B.S / Integrated M.Sc) during the year 2013-14.

3. Stream B: Candidates enrolled in first year of B.Sc. or BS or Integrated M.Sc. during the academic year 2012-13 are eligible to apply.

The KVPY, IISc, Bangalore has published detailed notification on 15th July 2012 in all leading newspapers. Information also will be displayed on the KVPY website www.kvpy.org.in. Candidates can apply online / offline . Following are important dates for application submission:

1) Last date for the receipt of request for application form: 3rd September 2012 (by post) and 7th September 2012 (in person).
2) Last date for online registration: 7th September 2012
3) Last date for the receipt of completed application form (For both online / offline applicants).

IIAS Shimla Fellowships Programme 2012

Indian Institute of Advanced Study (IIAS), Shimla has announced notification for the award of Fellowships in the departments of Social, Political and Economic Philosophy, Comparative Indian Literature, Comparative Studies in Philosophy and Religion, Comparative Studies in History, Education, Culture and Arts, Fundamental Concepts, Problems – Logic, Mathematics, Life Sciences, Environment, Indian Civilization and Problems of Contemporary India.

In-service research scholars are eligible for these fellowships. Duration of the fellowship is from three months to two years. Interested candidates can download the application form from the institute website at www.iias.org. Last date for the receipt of completed applications along with necessary enclosures is 20th May 2012.
