UGC Single Girl Child Scholarship Scheme 2012-13

September 2: University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi has introduced Post Graduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Single Girl Child for promoting girl education to all levels. UGC is offering scholarships for Single Girl Child of a family for Post-Graduate education. The SGC Scholarship Scheme for the academic year 2012 – 13 has been released. The scheme is named as Post-Graduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship and is offered for Single Girl Child only.

Eligibility: Any single girl child of her parents can apply. If the family has a son and a daughter, that applications will not be considered for scholarship under this scheme. The Single girl child should have taken admission in regular and full-time 1st year Masters Degree course in any recognized university or a recognized post graduate college.

The scholarship is applicable for PG-I year student only. Those registered for the course under distance mode are not eligible. Age should be below 30 years. The value of Scholarship is Rs.2,000/- per month for a period of two years only. For more details, see www.ugc.ac.in/sgc.

MAEF Scholarships for Girls from Minorities 2012-13

Maulana Azad Education Foundation (MAEF), New Delhi is offering Scholarships for Girls belonging to Minorities. MAEF is funded by the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India. Eligible candidates may downloaded application from from website : www.maef.nic.in. Amount of Scholarship is Rs. 12,000 per year.

Eligibility : Only Girl Students belonging to National Minorities (Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, Sikhs, Parsis) are eligible to apply for the Maulana Azad National Scholarship Scheme. Applicants must have passed in 10th class with minimum 55 percent marks. Family income of the student should be less than Rs. 1,00,000.
