SRFTI-Satyajit Ray Film Institute PG in Cinema Admissions 2011-12

Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI), Kolkata is inviting applications for admission to full time course of three years duration leading to a Post -Graduate Diploma in Cinema. Specializations offered are Direction and Screenplay, Cinematography, Audiography and Editing. The courses are offered for the session 2011-2012 to 2013-2014. Following are details of courses, specializations and application procedure:

Course Structure: First year of the course will be an Integrated Course of 42 weeks duration. This is common for all students. Specialization Programmes will be offered in 2nd and 3rd year with a total of 84 weeks duration. Course will be conducted through classroom lectures, practical / structured exercises, film screenings, interactions with professionals and workshops. Specializations offered in the program are

1. Direction and Screenplay
2. Cinematography
3. Audiography
4. Editing

Maximum 40 students per batch will be selected per each specialisation. SRFTI will conduct an All India Level Entrance Examination for short listing the candidates. Admission test will be conducted at Kolkata, New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Guwahati, Patna, Lucknow, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Ernakulam, Hyderabad, Raipur, Srinagar, Bangalore and Dehradun.

New York Film Academy- NYFA Work Shop on Film Making

New York Film Academy (NYFA) in association with Yellow Submarine Film Private Limited is conducting Film Work Shop in Mumbai for the first time in May 2011. NYFA is one of the leading film schools in the world and conducts film workshops in Japan, United Kingdom, China, Switzerland, South Korea, France, Nigeria and Italy. With this workshop in Mumbai, the famous Film Academy School entering into India. On completion fo the workshops / course, New York Film Academy shall award the Diploma. Following is the schedule of the workshop:

1. Dates, Period and Time of the Workshop: The workshop will be conducted from 2nd May 2011 to 28th May 2011.

2. Location : Lilavatibai Podar School, Santacruz, Mumbai.
3. Fee Structure : The fee for the entire workshop will be in two parts. One is Registration Fee of Rs. 20,000. Last date for the payment of this fee is 15th February, 2011. Tuition and Equipment fee is USD 3650. Last date for the payment of this fee is 28th February, 2011.

25 students participated in the workshop will receive an internship with established film production houses in India. One outstanding student in the batch also gets an internship with a leading Director from Bollywood. 1Take Media will act as placement partner for this workshop and it will assist students in getting internship programmes and also provide career guidance. The faculty of the Academy in New York, USA will conduct the workshop at Mumbai also.
