BPRD New Delhi Doctoral Fellowship Scheme 2013-14

Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPRD), New Delhi is inviting applications for the award of Fellowships for Doctoral Work. Last date for the receipt of applications is 13th September 2013.

Fellowship for Doctoral Work in Criminology and Police Science is offered by the institute. Eligibility: Applicants should have Masters Degree with first or second class marks in Criminology, Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Social Anthropology, Public Administration, Political Science, Law and Police Administration. They must have qualified in NET / SLET.

Age limit is 30 – 35 Years. Duration of the fellowship is 3 Years.
Selection will be based on merit.

VIT and ARAI to offer Research in Auto Engineering

Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore, India’s reputed private university for Engineering education and Pune-based Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) have joined hands to start a doctoral degree programme. The programme is aimed at promoting world class research in automotive engineering and related disciplines.

As per the MoU between the organizations, engineering practitioners and the scholars can carry out their research work at VIT or ARAI. The location will depend on the research topic chosen by the candidate.

Candidates sponsored by industries also will be admitted to this programme. The research areas offered under this new programme are newer materials, alternate energy sources, power train, new manufacturing techniques, engine, emission control and Mechatronics.

The candidates admitted into doctoral programme would be jointly guided by the faculty at VIT University and senior Engineers of ARAI. Both the institutes are already offering joint B.Tech. and M.Tech programmes in Automotive Engineering.
