BITS Higher Degree – M.Tech and Ph.D Admissions 2012

Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani has announced notification for admission to Higher Degree (PG) and Ph.D. Programmes for the academic year 2012-13. Admission to these programmes in all the campuses of BITS at Pilani (Rajasthan), Goa, Hyderabad (Andhra Pradesh) will be through online entrance examination to be conducted by BITS Pilani. BITS is one of the most reputed and highly acclaimed technical institute in the country with world class infrastructure, faculty and learning methodologies:

1) M.E.: The program is offered in the specialisations of Communication Engineering, Microelectronics, Embedded systems, Mechanical, Design Engineering, Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Software Systems, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology.
2) M.Pharm: This is offered with specialisation in Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Chemistry.
3) MBA.

Eligibility: Applicants should have a minimum of 60 percent marks in qualifying examination. Admission to ME/ M.Pharm will be based on computer based online test to be held during 3rd – 4th June 2012 at various centers. For MBA course, admission will be based on online test in Reading comprehension, Group Discussion and Interview to be held in Pilani on 27th July 2012.

For Ph.D. at BITS Campuses in Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad campuses, candidates should have M.E/ M.Pharm./ MBA/ M.Phil of BITS or its equivalent with a minimum of 60 percent marks in aggregate. Candidates with an M.Sc./ B.E./ B.Pharm or an equivalent degree are also eligible. For Ph.D. Programme in Languages and Humanities, applicants with an M.A. with minimum of 55 percent marks also will be considered.

www.bitsadmission.com . You should take a printout of the filled form and the completed application form along with the proof of fee payment of Rs 1600 should be sent to Admission officer, BITS, Pilani-333031. Last date for the for applying online is 23rd May 2012 (5 PM).

Eligibility for Wipro – BITS Pilani WASE Program 2012: Candidates should have B.Sc. (Computers/ IT/ Maths/ Physics/ Statistics) BCA/ BCM in full time mode. You should have secured at least 50 percent marks in 10th class, 12th class (10+2 / Intermediate) and 60 percent in Graduation. You must have studied Mathematics at 12th / Intermediate level. Graduates of 2010, 2011 and those appearing for final year graduation exams in 2012 are only eligible for Wipro – Bits Pilani WASE 2012 program.

Course Details: WASE Sponsored M.S. is a 48 month course and is divided into 8 semesters. BITS conduct contact classes for 16 weeks with 4 sessions over the weekend, 2 hours per session. During the week time, Wipro offers working on live projects in various business domains.

Selected candidates will get monthly stipend as per the details below:

1. First three months of the Course: Rs. 7,500/-
2. From 4th to 12th months: Rs. 10,000/-
3. Second academic year: Rs. 12,500/-
4. Third academic year: Rs. 18,000/-
5. Fourth academic year: Rs. 23,000/-

Selection process: The selection process consists of three stages. These are 1. An Online common entrance examination 2. A Technical Interview 3. An HR Interview. Candidates can check Wipro WASE website for model papers or previous question papers of online common entrance test. Online test will be conducted completely online (internet based). The Question Paper will have three sections. These are Verbal, Analytical and Mathematics. The standard of the exam will be on par with CAT and GMAT.
