The Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) has announced ISAT 2012 notification for admission into Under Graduate Programmes (B.Tech) for the year 2012-13. IIST is a Deemed to be University and was set up under the Department of Space, Government of India. The Institute offers specialised engineering programmes in Aerospace Engineering, Avionics and Physical Sciences. ISAT (IIST Admission Test) is a popular examination and competition is very tough as the institute is highly reputed in its field. The IIST training is a gateway to careers in ISRO, premier space research organisation in India. Online registrations for ISAT 2012 starts on 1st November 2011. Following are other details:
Eligibility and Qualification: Applicants should have passed the qualifying examination for the first attempt itself in the calendar year 2011 or 2012. Those candidates who are going to appear in qualifying examination after July 1, 2012 or expecting the results later than July 1, 2012 are not eligible to apply for ISAT-2012. Applicants should have at least 70 percent marks in aggregate in their Class X / SSC and 10+2 / Intermediate examination. Candidates should have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) papers in their Intermediate. SC and ST candidates need at least 60 percent marks. IIST is also offering highly qualitative Ph.D. programme in Space Technology and other Sciences.
IIST offer B.Tech in the specialistions of Aerospace Engineering, Avionics, and Physical Science. The IIST provides assistance to cover the cost of education, boarding, lodging and healthcare for the selected candidates. On successful completion of the course, students will be absorbed in ISRO as Scientists and Engineers. So, grabbing a seat in IIST is getting an opportunity in ISRO. ISAT 2012 will be conducted at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calicut, Bhubaneswar, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Chennai, Delhi, Dispur, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Kolkata, Mumbai, Nagpur, Port Blair, Patna, Thiruvananthapuram, Ranchi, Varanasi and Visakhapatnam.
