Satyajit Ray Film Institute- Acting Course Admissions – January 2012 Session

Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI), Kolkata has announced notification for admission into 6 months Acting Course to be commenced from January 2012. Name of the programme is ‘Acting for the screen’ and the duration is six months. The course is aimed at training actors towards understanding the film medium and its possibilities and motivating actors to actively participate in the making of a short film. Following are details of the programme, eligibility and application procedure:

Acting for the Screen: 12 seats. Reservations applicable as per the rules of Govt. of India. Eligibility: Candidates should have Graduation in Drama or Acting or Stagecraft from a reputed Institution. Candidates with Graduation and 5 years acting experience on stage or television are also eligible. Age should be below 35 years.

Selection of the candidates will be based on their acting skills to sent with a CD or DVD along with application forms. Shortlisted candidates will be called for an orientation course at SRFTI, Kolkata. 12 candidates will be selected based on their performance at the orientation course. Course fees is Rs. 40,000. CMAT 2012 – Test Dates, Exam Structure, Model Papers, Results Info

Here comes another all India level entrance examination. All India council for Technical Education (AICTE) is contemplating to conduct the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) 2012 for admission into MBA programme available in 4,000 colleges across the country. About 500 colleges which offer Post Graduate diploma in Management Program also comes under the purview of CMAT 2012. In total, about 4500 B.Schools or management colleges are going to participate in the CMAT 2012. This will be larger integration of number of entrance tests being conducted at various colleges and state levels. Following are details of number of seats available in CMAT 2012, Exam structure, question paper scheme, competition, preparation strategy, application procedure and model papers and previous question papers of similar examinations. CAT is the only exemption to CMAT, as per the AICTE guidelines.s

Number of seats available through CMAT: It is estimated that about 1.6 lac management seats will be available across the country through the CMAT examination. The approximate number of candidates going to take CMAT 2012 is expected to be around 250,000 all over India and abroad.

Test Centres for CMAT 2012: The CMAT 2012 will be conducted across the country in 23 Indian (States and Union Territories) covering 61 cities including tier two cities. Most importantly, the CMAT is planned as an online ‘Computer Based Test (CBT). The exam is also expected to be held multiple times in a year as like AIMA – MAT.

Eligibility and Qualifications: Applicants should be Graduates with minimum 50 percent marks in any discipline. Those studying final year degree courses can also apply.

Structure – Question Paper Pattern of the CMAT: CMAT will be in objective multiple choice type with questions from various sections. There will be four sections as described below:

1. Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation: 50 questions and 50 minutes
2. Logical reasoning: 50 questions and 45 minutes
3. General awareness: 50 questions and 45 minutes
4. Language comprehension: 50 questions and 45 minutes

Total: 200 questions and 180 minutes (3 hours)

Important Dates for CMAT 2012

CMAT is tentatively scheduled to be held within a 9 day test schedule from 20th February 2012 and ending on 28th February 2012. Other information such as stages including CMAT announcement, registration, application process, issue of admit cards, and result declaration will take place online. Application forms also will be made available in some designated banks. CMAT Results are likely to be announced at the end of March 2012.
