Odisha government has hiked the remuneration of SSs (Siksha Sahayaks), junior teachers working in the state. The increased salaries will be implemented from November 2013. This decision of the government was announced by School and Mass Education minister Rabi Narayan Nanda in the Assembly.
The remuneration of SSs is hiked by Rs 1200 per month, the junior teachers in government primary and upper primary schools will get additional Rs 2500 per month.
Henceforth, the SSs will draw an amount of Rs 5,200instead of Rs 4000 while the junior teachers, who were paid Rs4,500 per month, will now get Rs 7000 from the current month.As many as 33,044 Sikhya Sahayaks and 36,000 junior teachers will be benefited with the revised salary structure, Nanda said.
