National Power Training Institute (NPTI), Nagpur (Western Region) issued notification for admission to Post Diploma in Thermal Power Plant Engineering for the year 2011-12 (12th Batch). Duration of the course is one year. NPTI is a specialised institute for education and training in Power Engineering and Management. NPTI is functioning under the aegis of Ministry of Power, Government of India. On-job training will be provided as part of the course. The course is designed for Diploma engineers to enhance their employability knowledge. Course will start from March 2011. Following are other details like eligibility and application procedure:
Eligibility Requirements: Applicants should have Three years Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Control and Instrumentation Engineering or Equivalent with at least 60 percent marks. Selection of the candidates will be based on marks in Diploma only. There will be no entrance test. There are 65 seats in total and some seats are reserved for sponsored candidates. Applicants age should be below 27 years as on 15-12-2010. No age limit applies for sponsored candidates.
Interested candidates can apply on the prescribed format available on www.nptinagpur.com. Filled in applications along with a DD for Rs. 600/- drawn in favour of NPTI, Payable at Nagpur should reach the ‘Principal Director, National Power Training Institute (WR), South Ambazari Road, Gopal Nagar, Nagpur-440022, Maharashtra’. Last date for receipt of applications is 17th January 2011. Dates of counseling will be informed to the candidates through email.
Course Fee for non-sponsored candidates is Rs.100000 and for sponsored candidates Rs. 150000. gud morning sir, I have done diploma in electrical engineering. I want to know about the the course for diploma engineers in NPTI. When the entrance test is held for diploma guys and is there is any material like previous years paper, then it wiil be great beneficial for us.

NPTI is the reputed institute and offer highly job oriented training in its programs. NPTI courses always best choice. You can also consider appearing for Engineering Entrance Exams and join in only reputed Engineering College.

I had done my diploma in electrical engineering (3 yrs) from BTER with 54.55% in 2007. And i will completed my B.Tech. in June 2012 from rajsthan veedhyapeeth university (correspondence program-me).My query is that may i do diploma in power plant from NPTI. If yes then kindly guide me for the admission. And i belongs to un-reserved category also.

I have done my engineering in instrumentation from north Maharashtra university. now i am doing job in nagpur but i am interested in power sector .
my problem is i am 2008 pass out student. so this course is it bright career for me or not?
MY first job got in the 5 feb 2010 i had 2 year gap, so is there any problem

The admission process for 2011-12 is already over. You can try for NPTI Post Diploma Admissions 2012-13 Session.
