National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology has announced admission notification for 2012-13. NCHMCT will conduct Joint Entrance Examination 2012 across India for admission to B.Sc. Hospitality and Hotel Administration. The course is conducted jointly by NIHMCT and IGNOU, New Delhi. NCHMCT is an autonomous body functioning under the aegis of Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. The 3 year B.Sc. Hospitality and Hotel Administration is offered in 33 Central and State Government institutions (21 Central Institutes of Hotel Management and 12 State Govt. Institutes of Hotel Management) and another 19 Private Institutes of Hotel Management affiliated to NCHMCT, New Delhi. Apart from these, five Food Craft Institutes located in different parts in the country offer Diploma programs in specific operational areas of Hotel Management and Hospitality. There are 7787 seats in all the institutions for the academic year 2012-13. Following table gives you institute wise number of seats, eligibility and application procedure:
Qualification: Applicants should have a pass in Intermediate OR 10+2 system of Senior Secondary education or its equivalent with English as compulsory subject. Those candidates appearing in 10+2 or equivalent final year examination are also eligible for JEE 2012. The Bachelor of Science program in Hospitality and Hotel Administration is offered jointly by the NCHMCT and the India Gandhi National Open University. Duration of the course is three years. This is a full time course with in-depth laboratory work for students. Students will be trained in the operational areas of Food Production, Front Office Operation and House Keeping and Food and Beverage Service and also provides skills in Hotel Accountancy, Human Resource Management, Food Safety and Quality, Financial Management, Strategic Management, Facility Planning, Tourism Marketing and Tourism Management. Those completed the course will be offered placements in reputed hotels and ITES companies.

1) Numerical Ability and Scientific Aptitude : 30 questions
2) Reasoning and Logical Deduction: 30 questions
3) General Knowledge and Current Affairs: 30 questions
4) English Language: 80 questions
5) Aptitude for Service Sector: 30 questions
