National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), New Delhi has announced notification for ‘NCERT Doctoral Fellowships 2011’. NCERT shall award 10 (Ten only) NCERT Doctoral Fellowships for the candidates interested in carrying research in the field of education. Scholars from different disciplinary backgrounds and perspectives are encouraged to apply. Selected candidate will be offered Rs. 12000 per month as Fellowships along with annual grants. Following are details of eligibility and application procedure:
Eligibility Requirements: Applicants should have good academic record with minimum 55 percent marks at the Master’s Degree level. Age must be below 35 years as on last date of receipt of applications. Candidates should have registered for Ph.D. degree in a recognized university. OR they should have working toward their Ph.D. registration.
Selection Procedure: NCERT shall short list the candiates based on the applications. Those short listed will be called for interviews, which may also includes presentation of the research proposals. Selected candidates have to carry out research in priority areas identified by NCERT. These are Education of the Disadvantaged, Classroom Processes and Practices, Curricular Areas, Education for Peace and Psycho-social Development of Children.
Duration of the Fellowship is 3 years. Candidates will be paid Rs. 12000 (Equivalent to UGC – JRF holders) along with annual grant of Rs. 10000 for three years.
