National School of Drama (New Delhi) has announced admission notice for the academic year 2017-18 for three year diploma course in Dramatic Arts (2017-2020). The course starts from 17 July, 2017 and aims at training students to become professionals in the area of acting, design and other theatre related disciplines.
Medium of instruction : Hindi / English
Eligibility: Should be graduate in any subject and need participation in at least 6 theatre productions along with working knowledge of Hindi and English.
Age as on 1 July 2017 should be minimum 18 years and maximum 30 years. The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC / ST candidates only.
Number of Seats:
Out of 26 seats, 4 seats are reserved for candidates belonging to the scheduled castes; 2 seats are reserved for scheduled tribes; 7 seats are reserved for OBC (except Creamy Layer as notified by the Government) and reservation for physically disabled persons, as per Govt, of India rules.
Selection Procedure:
The selection is a two phase process. The candidate should appear for a preliminary examination and if selected then have to appear for a final examination workshop. A preliminary test / audition will be conducted at ten centers.

Application form can be filled up online and submitted at school website http://www.onlineadmission.nsd.gov.in or nsd.gov.in from 22 March 2017. Application forms can also be downloaded from the website. Last date to fill up online form is 22 April 201 7.
