RESET 2012 for M.Phil-Ph.D. Admissions in Padmavathi Womens University

Sri Padmavathi Mahila Visvavidyalayam, Tirupati (Women’s University), Andhra Pradesh is offering Research Courses in various applied and basic subjects of Science, Management, Humanities and Social Sciences disciplines. The SPMVV will conduct RESET 2012-13 for admission to Part time and full time M.Phil and Ph.D in the following subjects. Only women candidates are eligible to apply. SPMVV RESET 2012-13 will be held on 1st September 2012 at SPMVV, Tirupati. Following are details of subjects / disciplines offered, question paper model, application fee and procedure:

2. Business Management
3. Pharmacy (Only Ph.D.)
4. Sericulture
5. Law (Only Ph.D.)
6. Music
7. Applied Microbiology
8. Social Work
9. Home Science
10. Communication and Journalism
11. Biotechnology
12. Computer Science
13. English
14. Telugu Studies
15. Education
16. Women’s Studies

Eligibility Conditions:

1. For Ph.D: Applicants should have PG degree in concerned subject with minimum 55 percent marks. OR M.Phil degree holders with 55 percent marks in PG. For Ph.D. in womens studies, any PG degree holder can apply. For part time registrations, you need at least two years work experience after PG.

2. M.Phil: PG with 55 percent marks in concerned subject. Candidates with two years experience in research / teaching/ technical/ academic areas are eligible for part time M.Phil. courses.
Pass percentages are relaxable for SC/ ST candidates.

Question Paper Model: Candidates with M.Phil./ NET/ JRF/ SLET / GATE qualification are exempted from appearing for Entrance Test. The RESET will be of 3 hours duration for 100 marks. The candidates have to answer 5 essay type questions out of 8. For the Computer Science and Business Management, the test duration will be 90 minutes and they will have objective type question paper.

Interested and eligible women candidates can download application forms from SPMVV official website www.spmvv.ac.in . Applications can also be obtained by post from the Dean of Examinations, SPMVV, Tirupati by sending Rs. 35 stamped envelope. Duly filled in application forms should be sent to the ‘Dean, Academic Affairs, SPMVV, Tirupati- 517502’ on or before 30th July 2012. Applications must carry a DD for Rs. 1000 (Rs. 750 for SC/ST candidates) to be paid towards registration fee drawn in favour of ‘Registrar, SPMVV, Tirupati” and payable at Tirupati.     • GATE qualified candidates will be exempted from RESET provided the score is valid. If you are confident of getting good rank in RESET, you can appear for RESET as well. It depends on your choice. Try to visit the links provided for more details.

  4. sir/madam,the given websites for Ph.D notification are not valid. Application form is not available on the websites. so,kindly give the valid website address to download the application form.

    • Hi all,
      It is really surprising! They put the application form along with notification in the morning under the scroll ‘News and Events’ section on the website mentioned above . It was under heading ‘Admission notification for RESET 2009-10’. We saw that form and provided details on the blog. They removed that file and put another with just notification that was published on dailies. Lets hope they will put the form soon!

      when you opn this site you will News & Events on the right hand side of the screen and you will find scrolling items , and you will RESET NOTIFICATION 2009-2010, this is a pdf file, download it and you will find links for notification, application and prospectus of RESET 2009-2010 in that pdf file. download required documents.

    • You can download application from the website mentioned in the post. There is a combined application for M.Phil. and Ph.D. You need to just strike out whichever is not applicable for you.

There is no information about the M.Phil degree holders who wants to persue Ph.D parttime.As per my knowledge the M.Phil degree holders need not appear for entrance exams and they can be directly admitted into Ph.D. My wife is interested to prosecute her studies in Ph.D education. Please clarify.
