Despite flood of private and corporate schools into school education, Kendriya Vidyalaya Schools (KVs) are maintaining their charm. Kendriya Vidyalayas have been grabbing top ranks in CBSE Board exams almost every year. The credit must go to rigorious selection process being followed by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sanghatan in the selection of teaching staff for KV Schools. An important feature of KV Schools is their emphasis on extra curricular activities. I am not sure after reading many posts, but thought to ask, I am working as IT professional in Bangalore Manyata Tech Park, My father was in indian Army and National level Hockey player but unfortunately at my generation nobody is in central govt.
Mother is in Govt hospital still working. We have central school in our home town also and they do allow civilians also for admission.
I want for my son to get in to any KV due to their reputation of education. Currently he is studying in one private school in 2nd standard. Can you kindly suggest if my son can get admission in any KV in Bangalore. My Land lord is Airforce and Isro retired donnt know if that can make any difference.
Please suggest as early as possible.

Sorry for the late reply. It only helps the child if parents are employees of central government establishments. Other job categories does not make much difference. There are other categories like single girl child, MP quota, EWS quota etc. But there is no harm in trying under any of these. All the best.

Hi Tapan,
It would be easy to get Class XI admissions in KVs as most of the parents / students prefer corporate colleges after Class X. Contact the principal of KV for vacancy position.

Hi, I wanted some information for my friend who is a single parent and a state govt employee ( teacher ). She is looking forward for a seat for her daughter in KV. (1st std) and is planning to go for jP Ngr branch. We wanted to know if we should also apply in other schools while we are waiting to know the outcome of KV admission and by when results will be announced. Your grand daughter can be considered for KV admission under single girl child category. KVs do not give priority for grand daughters / grand sons of Govt. employees. The preference is for daughters / sons only. They may respond positively if the vacancies are available. Kindly check with the KV near to you. All the best.
