Kendriya vidyalayas, much popular as KVs are known for affordable and quality education. The schools are run and managed by the department of school education, ministry of human resources development of government of India. Following is the admission procedure of Kendriya Vidyalayas.
KVs follow unique admission process across the country. The main concern of KVs is providing school education to transferable and non transferable central government employees and children of defence personnel.
The admission process of KVs starts in February – March every year. The age of the child should be 5 years at the time of the admission.

The KVs laid down detailed priority list of the children. Children of defence personnel get top priority in admissions. There are provisions for Central and state government employees children and single girl child. General applications will be given last priority. In the recent times, KVs are also giving good number of admissions to general category students.

All states are now insisting on age 4 for LKG and 6 for grade 1 as entry point. Please let me know if Kendra Vidyalaya has the same 2 year age bar for lower and upper limit.

i am from (Mysore) My son present age is 2 yr 6 month (DOB 14-09-2015) so i need to know when is the joining exact date or year for Pre-school is their or LKG, UKG or 1st standard.

My child is studying in school which is not affilated by DOE So if i try for his admissionn in KV in Class 1 then Is that possible the school will consider my child or they will reject the application on the basis of previous school.
It will not be a problem. You can apply for KV admission.

Hi Syed, KVs have a transfer policy. It is not that difficult. You can cite proper reason for the transfer to get it done. Pls contact the Principal of the present school and request for the transfer.
