Kendriya vidyalayas, much popular as KVs are known for affordable and quality education. The schools are run and managed by the department of school education, ministry of human resources development of government of India. Following is the admission procedure of Kendriya Vidyalayas.
KVs follow unique admission process across the country. The main concern of KVs is providing school education to transferable and non transferable central government employees and children of defence personnel.
The admission process of KVs starts in February – March every year. The age of the child should be 5 years at the time of the admission.

The KVs laid down detailed priority list of the children. Children of defence personnel get top priority in admissions. There are provisions for Central and state government employees children and single girl child. General applications will be given last priority. In the recent times, KVs are also giving good number of admissions to general category students.

Whether the preference for children of railway employees and PSU banks employees is same? Because recently I got job in both fields and I am yet to join.

It is advisable to choose job based on the career prospects than KV admission preferences. Both will be given equal preference as they are transferable central government jobs.

My self Saritha, i am working in a small proprietorship company , I have a one daughter 9 year old, studying 3rd std. CBSC in a private school. I am single parent, i am the only one breadwinner. I wanted to give good education to my daughter but i am not in that position. I can to know that KV helps such people. kindly let me know that my daughter can get seat in KV any branch in Bangalore & what are the procedure. Any recommendation letter needed from respective persons?

You will get preference if any of the parents of the child is working in transferable government jobs. KVs do not consider working status of grand parents of the child. You can request the Principal if any vacancies are available. Sometimes they may consider if vacancies are available.

What will be the approx monthly fees for class 1, pls help coz I am a middle class mom.
Fee structure in KVs is very low and affordable. It is Rs. 600 per month for classes 1 to 7. For classes 8 to 10, the fee is Rs. 800 per month.
