Kendriya Vidyalayas – KV Schools Admission Procedure

Kendriya vidyalayas, much popular as KVs are known for affordable and quality education. The schools are run and managed by the department of school education, ministry of human resources development of government of India. Following is the admission procedure of Kendriya Vidyalayas.

KVs follow unique admission process across the country. The main concern of KVs is providing school education to transferable and non transferable central government employees and children of defence personnel.

The admission process of KVs starts in February – March every year. The age of the child should be 5 years at the time of the admission.

The KVs laid down detailed priority list of the children. Children of defence personnel get top priority in admissions. There are provisions for Central and state government employees children and single girl child. General applications will be given last priority. In the recent times, KVs are also giving good number of admissions to general category students.

  4. Dear Admin, My doubt is we have 43 MPs are in Tamilnadu, can we get quota from any one them or area specific City. Pls. suggest. also guide me how the MP Quota procedure works, as few of them approached me in order to get the letter from MP’s letter head, i am confused if the we must get a letter from MP or how the procedure goes on. Kindly suggest, would like to hear from you, as unable to meet the principal of KV to get above details.

    • Respected Radha,
      The MP has to recommend the number of students as allowed under his quota for the school that falls under his constituency. He / She can not recommend the students beyond the allowed number. There will not be any procedural problems as the school get limited number of recommendations from MP.

    i am working in an private school in bsk 3rd stage Bangalore. I am having a single girl child. She is now seven years old. can i get admission for her in class 1. what is the procedure? Is there any school van facility available? when we should try for admission.Please guide me.
