Kendriya Vidyalayas – KV Schools Admission Procedure

Kendriya vidyalayas, much popular as KVs are known for affordable and quality education. The schools are run and managed by the department of school education, ministry of human resources development of government of India. Following is the admission procedure of Kendriya Vidyalayas.

KVs follow unique admission process across the country. The main concern of KVs is providing school education to transferable and non transferable central government employees and children of defence personnel.

The admission process of KVs starts in February – March every year. The age of the child should be 5 years at the time of the admission.

The KVs laid down detailed priority list of the children. Children of defence personnel get top priority in admissions. There are provisions for Central and state government employees children and single girl child. General applications will be given last priority. In the recent times, KVs are also giving good number of admissions to general category students.

    If I get my daughter admitted in KV through the single girl child scheme and later if we are blessed with another baby with god’s grace, would the admission of my daughter is liable to get cancelled? Could you please confirm?

  2. My son is reading in class-1 at Kolkata, Kanchrapara KV School No.1, now i would like to shift him to Karaikudi KV School, kindly give guidelines in this regard, please.
    Reason:- My family shifted from Kanchrapara to Veeramathi/Tiruppattur i.e nearest KV School is Karaikudi. I am working in RPF (Railway Protection Force) as Constable at Kanchrapara.

    My daughter is studying UKG in a Dhanish Mat hr.se.school . Now we would like to join him in KV. Me and my husband are private employees with low annual income. we are from general category is it possible for us to get admission into KV. If possible from when will they issue application forms for the academic year 2016-17.

    I am from Guwahati and seeking admission for my 5 year Son for 1st standard.
    This my father is an Ex-Army personel who has taken part in 1965 & 1971 war.
    So, Sir I just want to know is their any provision of my son getting admission at Kendriya Vidyalaya at Guwahati as his grand father was an army personel?
