Kendriya vidyalayas, much popular as KVs are known for affordable and quality education. The schools are run and managed by the department of school education, ministry of human resources development of government of India. Following is the admission procedure of Kendriya Vidyalayas.
KVs follow unique admission process across the country. The main concern of KVs is providing school education to transferable and non transferable central government employees and children of defence personnel.
The admission process of KVs starts in February – March every year. The age of the child should be 5 years at the time of the admission.

Kendriya Vidyalayas in Uttar Pradesh
The KVs laid down detailed priority list of the children. Children of defence personnel get top priority in admissions. There are provisions for Central and state government employees children and single girl child. General applications will be given last priority. In the recent times, KVs are also giving good number of admissions to general category students.

You have studied in KV and do not know the admission procedure. How did you join at that time. KVs are following the same old procedure with little changes. The process may start in Feb / March.

you can try for admission in KVs at your area. The chances depends on the class and existing vacancies. Usually higher classes will have a fewer vacancies.

May not be allowed. MP of the area where school is located can recommend.

Visit the nearest KV and inquire about vacancies. Usually it is difficult to get admission in KV from 2nd standard onwards. Check your luck.

You will get first priority in KV admissions as you are serving in the Army. The admission process usually starts in January – February every year. Check with the KV you wish to apply for your daughter.

You need the letter from local MP of your residence. Recommendation letter from Kanya Kumari MP will not be acceptable in Hyderabad / any other location.

The MP quota admissions may also be taken up along with regular admissions.

You can apply for the KVs under general quota. In fact there is no such quota in KV admissions. But they will consider private employees if seats are vacant after admission to priority categories. It also depends on the area of KV.

No Janu, the MP has to sign the letter on his letter pad. The commissioner may sign but the school authorities will not accept.
