Kendriya Vidyalayas Admission Procedure for Single Girl Child Scheme

Kendriya Vidyalayas have become most sought after schools as the school education increasingly corporatised and fee structure is on consistent hike in private schools. Parents are in favour of KV education as they will offer balanced curriculum emphasizing sports along with education. KVs are giving special priority for single girl child in admissions, as per the rules of the Government of India.

As per the KV rules, a single girl child seeking admission to the Schools managed by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sanghathan (KVS) will get special consideration. The Government has taken this decision in March 2006. More relevant information is available with the following articles:

KV Age Limits for All Classes

Single girl children will be admitted in KVs up to a maximum of two girls per class above the strength. Apart from this, if there are single girl children left among the unsuccessful applicants for Class I after filling up all seats, two single girl children will be admitted over the sanctioned intake in each section of Class I.

Thousands of single girl children are benefiting from this scheme. The parents have to fulfill certain conditions while applying for admission under this category. They need to get a certificate from the registered doctor.

    • You can check with the Principal of KV School you wish to join your daughter. They will consider if vacancies are available in 6th Class. If you are an employee of central government, it should not be a problem to get seat. All the best.

    • Yes, you can apply for admission depending on the vacancies in desired class. Generally it is tough to get seat in higher classes. Pls check with the KV you are looking for admission about vacancy. Also check the age criteria for 4th class, as we posted in this site. All the best.

    • Where do you like to join her? KV at Picket will be nearer to you. But it has huge rush for admissions being in the center of city and also for good standards relatively.
