Kendriya Vidyalayas have become most sought after schools as the school education increasingly corporatised and fee structure is on consistent hike in private schools. Parents are in favour of KV education as they will offer balanced curriculum emphasizing sports along with education. KVs are giving special priority for single girl child in admissions, as per the rules of the Government of India.
As per the KV rules, a single girl child seeking admission to the Schools managed by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sanghathan (KVS) will get special consideration. The Government has taken this decision in March 2006. More relevant information is available with the following articles:
Single girl children will be admitted in KVs up to a maximum of two girls per class above the strength. Apart from this, if there are single girl children left among the unsuccessful applicants for Class I after filling up all seats, two single girl children will be admitted over the sanctioned intake in each section of Class I.
Thousands of single girl children are benefiting from this scheme. The parents have to fulfill certain conditions while applying for admission under this category. They need to get a certificate from the registered doctor.

1,Dose only single girl child are eligible,? what about single boy child,? is there any possible based on their economy or something else?
2,Does the Child can get admission on only with local residency,? currently living in chennai but want to move Trichy ,I have all the residential proof in chennai, If I want to get admission in Trichy ,what is the procedure..,?
1. KV admissions are open for all. But there is preference for some sections of society. Economically weaker sections also can apply under EWS category.
2. It may not possible. They prefer local residents with less distance to the school. You can submit an affidavit and try your luck. But not sure given the competition.

No Jhangir, she is not eligible under single girl child scheme. But you apply in general category.

The KV will let you know the required documents. Proof of age and residence certificate are essential. The mother need doctor certificate if the child is applying under single girl child scheme.
