Age Requirements:
KV Schools offer classes 1 to 12. The schools across the country follow uniform syllabus and teaching and examination pattern. Hindi and English are the medium of instruction in KV Schools. These schools give importance to sports and other co-curricular activities along with academic.
Age criteria of KVs is same for all Kendriya Vidyalaya Schools. According to the KVS guidelines, a child must be 5 years old as on 31st March in the academic year in which admission is sought for Class I. It should be noted that a child born on 1st April also be considered for admission.

Single Girl Child Admissions:

KVS has announced admission notification for the academic year 2019-20. The admissions are open for class 1 in all KVS schools across the country. Due to major medical ailment of my Daughter (DOB- 02 Nov 08), She was admitted in LKG in 2014. Now She is 7 year n 5 months, under what clause, She can get admission in Class I for academic session 2016-17.

Is this age criteria to complete 5 years by 31st march to get into first class for CBSE schools(KV) remains same still?
Becasue my son’s date of birth is 9th January 2013 but the CBSE schools in our locality(Coimbatore) are not ready to take him into LKG(he completed 3yrs on 9th Jan 2016) saying his age will not match the first standard age limit if we put him in LKG now.They are asking us to put him in Pre KG.
Please advise me whether my son is eligible to go 1st standard by Jun-2018 in KV if we put him in LKG now.

You can try under single girl child category and should produce medical certificate to that effect.
