Age Requirements:
KV Schools offer classes 1 to 12. The schools across the country follow uniform syllabus and teaching and examination pattern. Hindi and English are the medium of instruction in KV Schools. These schools give importance to sports and other co-curricular activities along with academic.
Age criteria of KVs is same for all Kendriya Vidyalaya Schools. According to the KVS guidelines, a child must be 5 years old as on 31st March in the academic year in which admission is sought for Class I. It should be noted that a child born on 1st April also be considered for admission.

KV Schools follow unique and uniform admission procedure across the country. Online applications have to be submitted as per the schedule for Class 1 admissions. Single Girl Child Admissions:
Kendriya Vidyalayas give priority for single girl children in admissions process. The parents need to provide certificate from registered medical practitioner at the time of application submission / admission. KVS follow this to encourage small family norm. See more details here:

KV Admissions:
KVS has announced admission notification for the academic year 2019-20. The admissions are open for class 1 in all KVS schools across the country. The child should have 5 years as on 31st March of the admission year (2018 in your case) for 1st class admission. You child is not eligible for admission in 2018.
