JNTU (Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University) Kukatpally, Hyderabad – Andhra Pradesh has issued notification for admission to various Post Graduate and Research programs for 2011-12. Programs are offered in Full Time and External Mode. JNTU Hyderabad is known for quality of faculty and infrastructure with reputation for training and research in science and technology disciplines. The University is offering Ph.D./ M.Phil./ M.S. Research Programs in the disciplines / subjects of Basic and Applied Sciences, Engineering and Technology, English, Physical Education and Management Studies. Following are details eligibility and application procedure:
Specialisations in M.Phil / Ph.D. Research Programs:
1. Ph.D.: In Energy Systems / Mechanical Engineering / Civil Engineering / Computer Science Engineering / Electronics and Communications Engineering / Bio-Technology / Spatial Information and Technology / Electrical and Electronics Engineering / Metallurgy / Pharmaceutical Sciences / Water Resources / Environmental Sciences / Chemistry / Mathematics / Physics / Nano Science and Technology / Management Studies;
Eligibility: Applicants should have PG Degree in relevant subject with at least 55 percent marks. For Ph.D. program in Management, candidates need MBA . Course / Subject specific eligibility requirements for all courses are available on JNTU Hyderabad website www.jntuh.ac.in.
2. M.Phil.: In Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, and Management Science.; Eligibility: Same as above for Ph.D.
3. M.S. : In Computer Science, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences and Biotechnology. Eligibility: Applicants need B.E. / B.Tech. / B. Pharmacy in the relevant specialisation / subject with at least 55 percent marks.
Selection of Candidates: JNTU shall conduct a Written Examination and Personal Interview. Written Exam will consist of 100 multiple choice questions in the relevant subject. Interested candidates can download applications from JNTU Hyderabad website www.jntuh.ac.in . Cost of application is Rs. 1000. (Rs. 500 for SC/ ST candidates for Full Time Research Programs). You need to appear and qualify in the entrance exam conducted by respective Universities. Most of the times, it depends on the discretion of the departments of the University. The best thing is to contact the head of the department and express your interest.

Check with the concerned department. Some universities will have two admission sessions (June and January). You can try for January session or need to wait for regular admission notification. Round the year admissions also possible for JRF candidates, if the university has such provisions. All the best!
