JNCASR M.S./Ph.D., Integrated Ph.D. Admissions 2011-12

Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), Bangalore one of the prestigious institutes for scientific research in basic and applied sciences and engineering sciences. The institute is supported by Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India and has excellent research facilities with world class faculty. JNCASR is inviting applications for admission to M.S / Ph.D Programmes in Science and Engineering disciplines for the year 2011-12. Applicants must have qualified in any one of the following examinations / tests:

1. NET-JRF/ LS under CSIR/ UGC fellowship schemes
2. DBT/ ICMR – JRF
3. GATE
4. JEST
5. Any other equivalent national level examination.

2. Integrated Ph.D. Programme: JNCASR is offering Integrated Ph.D. programme in Materials Science, Chemical Science and Biological Science. Eligibility is as follows:

A) Materials Science: Applicants should have Bachelor’s Degree in any branch of Science. Engineering graduates also considered if they have aptitude for scientific research.
B) Chemical Science: Must have Bachelor’s degree in Science with Chemistry as a major subject.
C) Biological Science: Should have Bachelor’s degree in Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics with aptitude for research.

Candidates must have a minimum of 55 percent marks at the Bachelor’s level. Those appearing for final year exams can also
apply. Last date for receipt of filled in applications is 11th March 2011.
