IBPS is going to conduct Specialist Officers Examination during second / third week of March 2013. The Specialist Officers examination will have a section on the topic – Professional Knowledge. This section deals with testing the knowledge of the candidates in their chosen field. The important specializations are IT / Engineering , Agriculture, Marketing, Law, Finance, Rajbhasha etc. Following are details of the syllabus, previous question papers, model papers and exam pattern.
Syllabus: Unfortunately IBPS did not mention any specific syllabus for professional knowledge paper. The question papers tests basic and advanced knowledge of the test taker in the specialized area. Candidates have to thoroughly prepare the curriculum given in the qualifying examination.
Previous Question Papers: The IBPS ha conducted Specialist Officers examination in 2011. The paper was not disclosed and even guess questions are also not available for ready reference. IBPS should have helped the candidates by uploading the previous paper on it’s website at www.ibps.in .
It is tough job for any candidate to prepare for the examination without being aware of syllabus and model paper. One can assume that the questions will be in Graduation / Post Graduation level as the prescribed qualifying exams for various posts are UG or PG.
Candidates appearing for IT Officers and Agriculture Officers exam may expect questions from Engineering level syllabus. Similarly, Marketing and Finance candidates will have to thoroughly prepare the contents at post graduation level (MBA Marketing / Finance).
