The Phase 1 of Common University Entrance Examination Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2022 has started from today and is further being conducted on July 15, 19 and 20. The second phase will be held on August 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 10. CUET UG is conducted for admissions into the Central Universities of India for various undergraduate courses. The admit cards had been released on July 13 for Phase 1 and can be downloaded here – https://cuet.samarth.ac.in/index.php/app/download/index
This year, admissions for Delhi University will solely be based on CUET score and class 12 marks do not have any weightage for getting an admission into any program. The Delhi University has also announced that it will be admitting 20 percent students from unreserved and OBC candidates and 30 percent seats from SC/ST candidates in the first round of counselling. This will fill vacant reserved seats in the university and students can get a wider choice of colleges and courses simultaneously.
The tie-breaker for two students preferring the same course in the same college with same CUET scores is their best of three subjects in class 12. If that too is same the best of four will be compared and goes on till best of 5. If there is still a tie between the two candidates their age will be considered and the elder candidate will get the preference. If the applicants are not satisfied with their CUET scores or courses, they can wait till the second round. Students are also given chance to change their preferred course or college.
