AIC Young Media Fellowships 2011-12

Australia – India Council (AIC) has issued notification for the award of Young Media Fellowships for media professionals. AIC fellowships provide career development opportunities for young and energetic journalists from Print and TV media in India and expose them to the media condition in Australia. These fellowships are aimed at gaining richer experience of Australia and understanding the contemporary Australia. Following are other details:

The AIC will award three Fellowships in 2011. Under the Fellowships, AIC will grant a financial sum of AU $7,000 (approximately Rs. 3,15, 000) to cover international airfares, accommodation, domestic travel and other expenses in Australia. Those selected to the fellowships will have to spend three to four weeks in Australia. They will be involved in researching and writing stories for print and television media in India.

KC Mahindra Scholarships for Post Graduate Studies Abroad 2012

K. C. Mahindra Education Trust has announced Post Graduate Scholarship notification for 2012. The Mahindra Trust offer interest free Scholarships for Post graduate studies in Abroad. The scholarship scheme was established to encourage and motivate students by providing interest free loan scholarships to them. The scholarships are aimed at students interested in pursuing their post graduation in overseas for the year 2011. The maximum amount awarded per scholarship is Rs. 95,000/. Apart from this, KCMET has announced the new KC Mahindra Fellows Fund. Under this, 3 most deserving candidates selected for the scholarship can be awarded an interest free loan scholarship ranging from Rs 5 to Rs 8 lacs. This will be awarded based on the merit and need. There are several other scholarships for Indian students to study abroad in various streams and disciplines.

Eligibility: The applicants should have a first class degree or equivalent diploma of the same standard. They must have secured admission or at least have applied for the same to a reputed university / institution / college abroad at the time of submission of the application form. The course must be commencing from the session of September 2012 or not later than February 2013.

Candidates studying their final year of degree or diploma also can apply but they have to produce the Final Year certificate before the end of June 2012.

Last date for receipt of filled in forms along with necessary enclosures is 31st March 2012. Selection will be based on Interviews for the short listed candidates. Final Interviews will be held in the month of July 2012. This will be intimated to the selected candidates by the end of May 2012.
