AHERF- Apollo Hospitals PG Certificate in Clinical Research Admissions

Apollo Hospitals Educational and Research Foundation (AHERF) has announced notification for admission into Post Graduate Certificate Course in Clinical Research. The course is offered at AHERF centers at Hyderabad, Chennai, New Delhi and Kolkata. Duration of the program is 12 months. The course is designed to provide hands on experience in the live clinical trials. The AHERF is providing about 90 percent placements to the selected candidates. The Course will start in July 2011. Following are other details of the program:

Major companies recruiting Clinical Research students at AHERF are CROs and SMOs like Jubilante Clinsys, AHERF, Icon, Paraxel, Quintiles, SMO-India and Pharmaceutical and biotech companies such as Pfizer, Johnson and Johnson, Biocon, Panacea Biotech etc. After successful completion of the certificate course, students will be placed full time in one of the AHERF sites for a period of 6 months.

Eligibility Requirements: Applicants should have Graduation with a degree in Life Sciences/ MBBS/ BAMS/ BHMS/ BDS/ BPT/ MPharm/ BPharm etc. with minimum 60 percent marks. The selection of candidates will be based on the performance in the interview. Number of seats are 20 only. Details of program also available on www.aherf.org

Cost of application and registration fee is Rs 500. Admission fee is Rs 50,000 and this has to be paid at the time of admission. IGIB Delhi Ph.D. Admissions 2011-12

Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology (IGIB Delhi) announced notification for admission to Ph.D. Program for the academic year 2011-12. The Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology (CSIR-IGIB) invite applications from brilliant candidates from varied backgrounds with strong motivation and good academic credentials to pursue research in front line areas of modern biology leading to a Ph.D. degree in the broad interdisciplinary areas of Biological and Chemical Sciences, Molecular Medicine and Disease Genomics, Environmental Biotechnology and Bioinformatics.

Eligibility Requirements: Applicants should have Masters’ degree with first class or equivalent grade in any branch of chemical sciences/ life sciences / mathematics/ physical sciences/ biotechnology/ statistics/ computer science or allied subjects. Final year candidates also can apply. Candidates with MBBS degree may also apply. M.Sc. candidates must hold any of these fellowships: CSIR-UGC (JRF)/ DBT (JRF) /ICMR-JRF /DST/ NSPIRE as on August 8th, 2011. Age limit is 28 years as on 30-05-2011.

Selection will be based on written aptitude test of two hour duration. This will be conducted on 26-06-2011 at any of these centers, Delhi, Pune, Kolkata or Bangalore. Those qualified in written test will have to appear for interviews and discussion at IGIB. The final result will be declared on 21-07-2011 on the website.
