KBITS Karnataka Biotechnology Aptitude Test – KBAT 2011-12 for BTFS Admissions

Karnataka Biotechnology and Information Technology Services (KBITS), Department of Information Technology, Biotechnology and Science and Technology, Bangalore (Govt. of Karnataka) is inviting applications from enthusiastic candidates to appear for Karnataka Biotechnology Aptitude Test (KBAT) 2011-2012 for admission into Biotechnology Finishing Schools (BTFS) offering Post Graduate Diploma in specialised Biotechnology related job oriented courses. BTFS is a unique initiative of the Govt. of Karnataka to provide placement opportunities in the Biotech Sector. Following are details of the courses offered, eligibility and application procedure:

Courses offered through BTFS (Biotechnology Finishing Schools):

1. Bioinformatics and Rational Drug Design
2. Nutraceuticals and Food Processing
3. Pre-clinical, Clinical Research, Bio-statistics and Data Management
4. Fermentation and Bio-processing
5. Biosensors and Medical Devices
6. Plant Genetic Transformation, Genome, Seed and Marker Analysis
7. Cellular and Molecular Diagnostics
8. Protein Expression and Scale up
9. Plant tissue culture and Micro Propagation

Selected candidates will get admission in the above specialisations in 12 well known institutions across the state of Karnataka. Selection will be based on the Online Entrance Test called KBAT (Karnataka Biotechnology Aptitude Test 2011-12) followed by an interview at Bangalore. BIT Mesra Integrated M.Sc. Admissions 2011-12

Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra is inviting applications for admission into Integrated M.Sc in the disciplines of Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics and Computing. These courses are intended for students who passed Intermediate / 12th Class in a recognised school / college. BIT, Mesra is a deemed university accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) an also National Board of Accreditation (NBA). Following are details of Integrated Post Graduate Programs offered by BIT Mesra, Ranchi (Bihar):

1. Integrated M.Sc. in Chemistry; Eligibility: Applicants age must be below 21 years as on 1st October 2011. Candidates should have passed in Class 12 or its equivalent examination with English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics / Biology subjects. They should have secured at least 60 percent marks.

2. Integrated M.Sc. in Physics: Applicants should have pass in Class 12 / +2 / Intermediate with English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics with at least 60 percent marks in average of 4 subjects. Age should be below 21 years as on 1st October 2011.

3. Integrated M.Sc. in Mathematics and Computing: The maximum age limit is 21 years as on 1st October 2011. Candidates should have passed in 10+2 / Intermediate/ Class 12 with English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics subjects securing minimum 60 percent marks in average.

There are 20 seats in each course. Selection of the candidates will be based on the performance in qualifying examinations. Age relaxations apply for reserved candidates. Filled in application forms along with 2 recent colour photographs (one pasted on the form) with photocopies of all the relevant mark sheets and certificates should be sent to ‘Dean Admission and Academic Coordination, Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi – 835215’. Application fee is Rs. 1500 which has to be paid in the form of DD drawn in favour ‘Birla Institute of Technology, payable at Ranchi.
