Khorana Program for Scholars – 2016 in Biotech and Allied Subjects

Khorana Scholars Program The applications are invited for Khorana Program for Scholars – 2016 by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Govt. of India, Indo-US Science and Technology Forum (IUSSTF – www.iusstf.org) and WINStep Forward. The list of participating universities is available on the website www.winstepforward.org.

Eligibility: Candidates should have enrolled in B.Tech, M.Tech and M.Sc. in India in Biotechnology and allied areas. Students who are pursuing PhD are not eligible to apply.

Scholarship amount includes stipend, airfare, health insurance. The program will be conducted during May – July 2016. Application forms can be downloaded from the website of IUSSTF. Last date for the submission of applications is 30th November 2015.

LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme 2015

LIC Golden Jubilee Foundation has released notification for LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme 2015. The scholarship is aimed at providing financial assistance for poor and meritorious students who are pursuing professional courses like Engineering, Medicine, ITI and other vocational courses. The number of available Scholarships for each LIC division are 20 (10 for Boys and 10 for Girls). Following are details of eligibility and application procedure for the year 2015-16:

Eligibility: Candidates with Intermediate / Class XII examination or its equivalent passed in the academic year 2014-15 with at least 60 percent marks are eligible to apply. They should be interested in doing courses like Medicine, Engineering, Graduation, Diploma etc. All the candidates should have annual parental income of less than Rs. 100000.

The LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarships will be provided for the entire course duration. Scholarship shall be awarded to those students who have secured not less than 60 percent marks in the previous final examination. Students having the lowest annual family income shall be given preference. The scholarship shall be discontinued if an awarded / student fails to secure 50 percent marks in B.A./ B.COM. and 55 percent marks in other streams or equivalent grade.

Application procedure: Interested and eligible candidates can apply online only through LIC website http://www.licindia.in/GJF_scholarship.htm . Last date for the receipt of online applications is 23 September 2015.
