Birla Institute of Science and Technology (BITS) Pilani is inviting applications for admission into various Higher Degree (ME / M.Pharm) and Ph.D. Programs for the academic year 2011-12. BITS has campuses at Pilani, Hyderabad and Goa. Admissions Officer, BITS Pilani has released the notification on behalf of all other campuses. Admission to all the below courses will be made on all India basis and strictly on merit and suitability of the candidate for a particular course. Applicants should have minimum 60 percent marks in the qualifying examination. Following are details of courses and application procedure:

1. M.E. Programs: Biotechnology / Communication Engineering / Chemical / Chemical with specicalization in Petroleum Engineering / Civil Engineering (With Specialisations in Structural Engineering / Transportation Engineering / Infrastructure Systems / Water Resources) / Computer Science / Microelectronics / Embedded Systems / Electrical with specialization in Power Electronics and Drives / Mechanical Engineering / Mechanical with specialization in Thermal Engineering / Design Engineering / Manufacturing Systems / Software Systems.

2. M. Pharm / M. Pharm with specialization in Pharmaceutics / Pharmaceutical Chemistry
3. MBA
4. MPH: (Master in Public Health)

5. Ph.D. Programs: In Engineering, Pharmacy, Science and Humanities disciplines.

All the candidates admitted to the Higher Degree and Ph.D. programmes will be considered for assistantship in the form of stipend and partial tuition fee waiver. They need to participate in teaching and other academic developmental programme of the institute.

Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore, Tamil Nadu will release its Engineering Entrance Examination (EEE) 2011 Results during April / May 2011. Counseling will start from June 2011. The VITEEE 2011 results will be displayed on the following websites www.vit.ac.in, www.schools9.com, globalinfowings.com, www.indiaresults.com , www.minglebox.com , www.shiksha.com etc. The VITEEE 2011 will start on 17th April 2011.

Following are brief statistics of VITEEE 2011: The popular entrance exam will be conducted in Vellore, Chennai and Delhi along with 105 cities and 243 exam centers across the country and also in Dubai and Singapore. 166493 candidates have applied for VITEEE 2011. Out of these 133291 are boys and 33202 are girls. Majority of the candidates are appearing from Andhra Pradesh with a total of 27864 applicants.

There will be 20 exam centers in Delhi alone. VITEEE 2011 Counseling will commence from June 2011. Detailed schedule will be announced at the time of release of results. VIT is offering excellent scholarships for top scorers in VIT EEE 2011. These are:

1. 100 percent fee waiver for 100 percent marks scorers
2. 75 percent fee waiver for top 50 rankers
3. 50 percent fee waiver for 51- 100 rankers
