Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar (Orissa) is inviting applications for the grant of / admission into Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) for Ph.D. Programms for the academic year 2011-12. Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar is an autonomous Institute of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. The institute is engaged in advanced research in the specialisations such as infectious diseases, gene function and regulation and translational research. Following are details of the programme:

Essential Qualifications: Candidates should have Master’s degree or equivalent with at least 55 percent marks in any branch of Life Sciences or Chemistry. They should have qualified in NET with valid fellowship from UGC / CSIR / ICMR-NET / DBT. Candidates those selected for INSPIRE fellowship are also eligible to apply. Emoluments will be as per norms of the funding agency.

Selection for JRF cum Ph.D. Programme will be based on the interviews. Details of shortlisted candidates for interviews will be displayed on the Institute website www.ils.res.in. The institute will provide hostel accommodation for selected candidates.

Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology, University of Kashmir is inviting applications for admission into M.Phil and Ph.D. Programmes in the departments / disciplines of Computer Science, Electronics and Home Science for the academic year 2011-12. Programmes: M.Phil and Ph.D. (Electronics / Computer Science / Home Science); Selection of the candidates will be based on the performance in Entrance Examination. Details of the entrance examination will be displayed on the website later. Interested candidates can apply online through official website. The online application process starts from 13th August 2011.

Candidates have to take print out of the online generated application form along with pay-in-slip. They have to deposit an application fee of Rs 250/- under account No. SB -53049, in any of the Financial Branches of Jammu and Kashmir Bank. The fee receipt and application should be sent to the concerned department so as to reach on or before 20th August 2011. Those candidates who have already applied in response to earlier notification dated 27-08-2010, need not apply again.
