NEST – 2017 for Integrated M.Sc in Basic Sciences

National Entrance Screening Test or NEST – 2017 is an admission test for admission to the 5 year Integrated M.Sc Programme in basic sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics at National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar and University of Mumbai – Department of Atomic Energy Center for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS), Mumbai for the academic year 2017-18.

Number of Seats: NISER: 172; CBS: 47.
Eligibility: Candidates should have passed in Class XII examination in either 2015 or 2016. Candidates appearing in 2017 are also eligible to apply.

Candidates should have secured at least 60 percent marks in aggregate (or equivalent grade) in Class XII (or equivalent) examination from any recognized Board in India. For Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) candidates and for Persons with Disability (PD), the minimum requirement is 55 percent.

Age: Candidates in General and OBC category should be born on or after August 01, 1997. The age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ ST/ Physically Disabled (PD) candidates.

IIST Thiruvananthapuram B.Tech and Dual Degree Admissions 2017-18

Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) has issued notification for admission into various academic programmes for the academic year 2017-18. Following are details of programmes, eligibility and application procedure:

Prorammes:

1) 4 year B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering: 60 seats
2) 4 year B.Tech in Avionics: 60 seats
3) 5 Year dual degree (B.Tech and MS / M.Tech): 20 seats

Disciplines: Aerospace Engineering, Avionics, Astronomy and Astrophysics, Chemistry, Earth System Sciences, Humanities, Mathematics, Physics and Remote Sensing.

5 year dual degree leads to B.Tech in Engineering Physics and any one of the programmes of MS Solid State Physics / Astronomy and Astrophysics / Earth System Science / M.Tech in Optical Engineering.
