National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), India’s most prestigious institute for specialised programmes in Fashion Design, Management and Technology. It is functioning under the aegis Govt. of India and equipped with excellent facilities and collaboratons. NIFT issued Admission Notification 2011 for entry into various UG and PG programmes in fashion related disciplines. NIFT has its centers in New Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Gandhinagar, Bangalore, Kolkata, Raebareli, Mumbai, Kannur, Bhopal, Patna and Shillong. Selection of the candidates will be based on cumulative performance in Written Examination, GD and Personal Interview along with a Situation Test to test aptitude of the candidates. 1. Bachelor Programmes: (B.Des.): Accessory Design/ Fashion Communication/ Fashion Design/ Knitwear Design/ Leather Design/ Leather Design/ Textile Design / B.FTech in Apparel Production
2. Masters Programmes (M.Des.): Design / Fashion Management / Fashion Technology

Prospectus and Application Forms can be had from selected branches of Axis Bank and IDBI Bank across the country. Application fee is Rs. 250/- . You can also obtain application forms from any of the above mentioned NIFT centres. OR you can also avail the form by post sending a DD of Rs.350/- in favour of NIFT, New Delhi payable at New Delhi. 3. Written Entrance Examination: 20-02-2011

6. Final Results of Bachelor Programmes : End of May, 2011;
7. Final Results of Master Programmes : 1st week of June, 2011

Eligibility Requirements: Applicants must be graduates in any discipline / subject. They should have secured minimum 60 percent marks. Those completing their final year exams by June 6, 2011 also can apply. Admission will be through XAT 2011 to be conducted by XLRI, Jamshedpur. You can register for XAT through www.xlri.net.in . Last date for XAT 2011 registrations is 30 November 2010.

Candidates have to apply for LIBA separately. Application fee is Rs. 1000. You have to take a DD in favour of ‘LIBA Chennai’ payable at Chennai and need to register online at www.liba.edu by giving DD details. You can also avail applications from any of the IMS learning center. Your applications along with DD and other prescribed details should reach ‘Admissions Office, LIBA, Loyola College, Nungambakkam, Chennai – 600034’ on or before 31st January 2011.
