AIEEE 2011 Paper Leak news- New Reschedule Dates of AIEEE, AFMC

AIEEE (The All India Engineering Entrance Examination) 2011 was delayed by a few hours on 1st May 2011 after the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force police clued-up the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) that the AIEEE 2011 question paper had been leaked. The police informed the media that the leaked question paper was recovered by officials from Lucknow and found that it was being sold for up to Rs 6 lakhs in the market. AIEEE 2011 examination will be held on 8th May 2011 for those students appearing for AFMC – MBBS exam to be held on 1st May 2011. Following are details of new schedule, timings and dates of AIEEE 2011. The Central Board of Secondary Examination has postponed the first part to 12 noon from the scheduled 9.30 AM. The second part of the AIEEE exam will be held from 4.00 pm to 7.00 pm on 1st May 2011.

The AIEEE 2011 exam is being conducted online for the first time. AIEEE is intended for admission to BE/ B.Tech. / B.Arch / B. Planning courses and is held in two parts in two sessions. The first paper for B.E. courses and the second paper is for B.Arch courses. CBSE chairman Vineet Joshi has informed the media that those candidates who are also appearing for the MBBS entrance of Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) , Pune after AIEEE 2011 will be allowed to appear for the AIEEE on May 8th 2011. The May 8th exam will be held at the same examination centre and the same admit card will be valid for AIEEE 2011 on the said date. The examination centers which are conducting both AIEEE and AFMC exams on 1st May can also opt to hold the AIEEE exam on 8th May 2011 at 9.30 AM. With the latest developments of AIEEE 2011, the AFMC MBBS examination has also been postponed to 4.30 PM from 2-30 PM. It is believed that there is a Baihar and Kanpur connection for the leak of AIEEE 2011 question paper in UP. At least 12 lakh students are appearing for AIEEE 2011 across the country being conducted at over 1,600 centres in more than 80 cities.

The AIEEE is being conducted online for the first time from this year. About 1 lakh students from 20 cities will be taking the online entrance examination. Admission to more than 25000 engineering seats in 30 National Institutes of Technology and about 150 engineering colleges throughout the country will be through AIEEE scores.
