Apollo Hospitals Educational and Research Foundation (AHERF) has announced notification for admission into Post Graduate Certificate Course in Clinical Research. The course is offered at AHERF centers at Hyderabad, Chennai, New Delhi and Kolkata. Duration of the program is 12 months. The course is designed to provide hands on experience in the live clinical trials. The AHERF is providing about 90 percent placements to the selected candidates. The Course will start in July 2011. Major companies recruiting Clinical Research students at AHERF are CROs and SMOs like Jubilante Clinsys, AHERF, Icon, Paraxel, Quintiles, SMO-India and Pharmaceutical and biotech companies such as Pfizer, Johnson and Johnson, Biocon, Panacea Biotech etc. After successful completion of the certificate course, students will be placed full time in one of the AHERF sites for a period of 6 months.

Eligibility Requirements: Applicants should have Graduation with a degree in Life Sciences/ MBBS/ BAMS/ BHMS/ BDS/ BPT/ MPharm/ BPharm etc. with minimum 60 percent marks. Cost of application and registration fee is Rs 500. Admission fee is Rs 50,000 and this has to be paid at the time of admission. Notification for Huawei Maitree Scholarships 2011 has been announced. The details of the scholarship is given below. These scholarships are meant for Indian students willing to study in China. The award of Huawei Scholarship for selected candidates will start from August, 2011. The scholarship will be applicable for Graduate and Post Graduate studies in reputed institutions in China. Candidates joined in the emerging areas in broad subjects of Science and Technology, Culture and Social Studies and Development related programmes will be preferred. Following are other details like eligibility, value of the scholarship and application procedure:

Eligibility Requirements: Applicants should have good academic record. They must not avail any other corporate or government scholarship for the same program of study in Chile. Candidates should have got admission in a reputed college / institute in China. Age should be below 25 years as on 1st September. Apart from these, candidates personality, aptitude and academic purpose will also be considered by the selection panel for the final selection.

The duration of the scholarship will be upto the entire period of course / study and it will be renewable every year. Scholarship amount is equal to USD 10,000 per annum and this will be given to the selected candidates to cover the tuition fee and living expenses in China.

How to apply: Interested candidates have to apply online only through www.huaweischolarships.org . Candidate should provide accurate and complete details of their school and college education, awards, any research work and experience if any along with a statement of purpose. The candidates should provide references from two persons of repute, preferably academicians and teachers. Reference letter should not be of more than 500 words. The letter should be on the referee’s letter head along with the his signature and suitable stamp. Candidates have to enclose passport size photograph, proof of admission in a university / institute in China, statement of purpose, copies of Degree, mark sheets and Passport copy. Short listed candidates will be called for interviews.
