Shodhganga – INFLIBNET for Onilne Ph.D. Thesis of Indian Universities

Doctoral thesis submitted by various central, state and deemed universities in India can be accessed worldwide by researchers now as all these works will be hosted on ‘Shodhganga’, a portal being hosted by the Information and Library Network (INFLIBNET). INFLIBNET is an autonomous body promoted by the University Grants Commission (UGC), Govt. of India. The url of the Shadhganga of INFLIBNET is http://shodhganga.inflibnet.ac.in

The latest addition to the INFLIBNET project is Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Hyderabad. The first bunch of Ph.D. thesis of the JNTUH have been sent to be uploaded on Shodhganga. Before the Electronic Thesis Dissertations (ETDs) are sent for upload to INFLIBNET, they are generally run for anti plagiarism through the special software acquired by the JNTUH last year. Ph.D. Theses submitted since 2010 in JNTUH will only be available on Shodhganga as they have electronic copies of thesis submitted. Here you can find more on using or searching Shodhganga INFLIBNET website for Ph.D. Thesis.

The INFLIBNET is an Inter University Center established to promote open access to scholarly content generated in various Indian Universities. Ph.D. Thesis of various departments and schools can be accessed on this network. The INFLIBNET Center has computers, network, software infrastructure along with good technical know how required for hosting electronic versions of Ph.D. theses and dissertations in open access to all the students and researchers along with interface to search, retrieve and access theses content.

Shodhganga is a name coined by INFLIBNET Center for referring to the repository of Indian Electronic Thesis and Dissertations submitted to various universities by their Ph.D. candidates. JNTUH, Andhra Pradesh has made it mandatory for students to submit the thesis in electronic format also as they have to be uploaded to Shodhganga. Since the inception of JNTU in 1972, about 1000 Ph.Ds have been submitted. The number has picked up in the last fve years and around 100 Ph.D.s are submitted per year.

GATE Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Basic Sciences – Important Topics and Useful Books

GATE is an entrance examination that facilitates Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Life Sciences, Basic Science and Biotechnology students to pursue higher courses such as M.Tech. and Ph.D in reputed IITs and other institutes / universities. Though GATE is mostly popular as an Entrance exam for M.Tech Programmes, Life sciences and Biotech candidates also can appear for this exam and pursue M.Tech. / Ph.D. in IITs, IISc and other reputed universities. GATE is also considered as an alternative to CSIR – NET for appointment as Project Assistants in CSIR laboratories. GATE is also conducted in Chemical Sciences, Physics, Mathematics, Biotechnology and Life Sciences. Science candidates can get admission in PG courses (M.Tech) or Ph.D. in institutes such as IITs, IISc, IICT< CCMB, HCU, NCL Pune etc. GATE score is also used by National University of Singapore (NUS) for admission into Ph.D. Programme.
